Elbert County Chipper Project and Computer Recycling

Prices for limbs brought in:Small pickup or trailer load - $6.00
Larger pickup or trailer load - $8.00
Extra large trailer load - $20.00

Residents that bring in materials for chipping may take home an equal amount of mulch for free.

Price for mulch:Small pickup or trailer load - $6.00
Large pickup or trailer load - $8.00
Extra larger trailer load - $20.00

Loads containing any materials other than tree limbs less than eight inches in diameter will be refused.
Loads for chipping will only be accepted Fridays and Saturdays 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
No chipper loads will be unloaded unless the chipper operator is present.
The chipper project will shut down November – March, depending on the weather.
Loads must be securely tied down.No smoking will be allowed on the Elbert County Compactor grounds.
Children and pets must remain in the vehicles at all times.
Elbert County Environmental Health will act as the managing agency. 
All receipts will be deposited through the Elbert County Compactor revenue account.
The Elbert County Master Gardeners may be interested in utilizing the office portion
of the trailer as a place to give out xeriscaping and water conservation practices,
as well as a demonstration flower bed in 2008.

Computer Recycling and Collection
Executive Recycling is a vendor we have used in the past for Haz Mat Round Up Day.
They are willing to collect any computers, televisions or cell phones for 15 cents per pound.
We can charge a per piece amount to take in these items.The Elbert County Environmental Health Department
gets many requests for this service.  Further, we think we can create an extra source of revenue to
offset our recycling program costs. We could utilize the new chipper employee to assist with this project.
  The recycler will pick up at no cost, other than the weight charge, as soon as 12 pallets are full. 
We will need a shelter for the computers that a fork lift can access.

The computer recycler will guarantee hard drive destruction.
